This is a terrific opportunity to work for one of the pioneer’s of the SAAS business model and today’s global leader in cloud-based ERP/financial applications.  The Director of Corporate Communications reports to the senior vice president of corporate communications and works closely with other key functional areas within the NetSuite global marketing organization.  This senior role oversees the planning and execution for a wide range of product, industry and corporate public relations and communications initiatives, including specific programs designed to move NetSuite up market and deepen its penetration of key vertical markets and industries.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 8-12 years experience in technology-related public relations and communications with varied roles in agency and corporate environments;
  • Specific experience working for vendors competing in enterprise business software (cloud or on-premise), and cloud computing business applications, middleware or infrastructure platforms;
  • Strong planning and execution skills, including the ability to develop communication plans that complement and leverage core global and regional marketing objectives;
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to write or oversee the writing of news announcements and background documents that reflect focused market and competitive positioning;
  • Active, healthy relationships with trade and business media, industry analysts, bloggers and pundits, as well as the ability to frame and position NetSuite initiatives for accurate and fair reporting;
  • Required is a genuine interest in technology and an understanding of the enterprise software and cloud computing spaces, and command of all traditional PR tactics. Clear, concise and consistent communication skills are a must. This position also requires a strong ability to multitask and own/drive numerous projects simultaneously. As a member of the PR team, this person must be familiar with current market trends, social media outlets such as blogs, Facebook and Twitter. Laughter and creativity encouraged.
  • Also a must is a strong track record of working closely with and satisfying the communication needs of executive management.

Responsibilities:

Writing and media relations

  • Write various PR materials including messaging documents, one-pagers, pitch letters, speaking opportunity abstracts, executive speeches, and press releases (limited)
  • Place byline articles with target publications and journalists
  • Edit other PR written materials and documents
  • Establish and develop relationships with designated trade, vertical and regional publications
  • Contact designated media regarding all news, editorial opportunities, and proactive pitches

Speaking opportunities/events

  • Researching speaking opportunities
  • Locating potential customer speakers
  • Contact and prepare customers for speaking
  • Produce electronic presentations as needed
  • Manage speaker logistics, event onsite logistics as needed

Miscellaneous

  • Regularly monitor NetSuite and competitor online news coverage
  • Compile weekly news coverage for website posting
  • Write briefing documents/profiles for press briefings as needed
  • Assist with analyst relations as needed
  • Research new PR outlets and target publications
  • Assist with NetSuite’s Social Media reactive/proactive projects as needed
  • Work with NetSuite Marketing, Sales, Product Management and Professional Services teams as needed

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in high-tech PR
  • BA (preferably in a writing or communications-related field)
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and project management skills 
  • Media relations skills 
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to work well with other departments within the company
  • Strong execution skills
  • Willing to work flexible hours as needed
  • Proven ability to work under tight deadlines with limited resources 
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly prioritize projects and communicate priorities to stakeholders 
  • High level of energy, enthusiastic team player and dedication to excellence.
