Job Description

Public and Analyst Relations Manager: Enterprise & Campus Ethernet/IP Technologies

As an industry pioneer, Brocade Communications, Inc. is leveraging its market and technology leadership in helping shape the evolution of the networking market. Effectively communicating Brocade's vision and direction to external influences such as customers, investors, partners, analysts and the media will be a critical success factor.

In support of this objective, we are seeking a public and industry analyst relations expert who will be responsible for managing and driving the comprehensive communications program for Brocade Enterprise & Campus Ethernet/IP organizations. This role will require
a candidate who can create and manage effective PR/AR strategies, tactics and outreach that influence key business and technology media.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Partnering with the Enterprise & Campus Ethernet/IP Technology groups to create and manage full PR/AR campaigns from planning to execution
• Working with global counterparts to help drive positive coverage for the Enterprise & Campus Ethernet/IP Technology areas in international media
• Working with Federal marketing and sales teams to leverage critical wins and GSA approvals
• Providing strategic PR/AR counsel to senior executives on an on-going basis
• Monitoring competitive activities to scope out opportunities to insert Brocade's key messages and positioning through the media and analyst communities
• Influencing and working with PR/AR counterparts at partner companies and with customers
• Drive complex negotiations for strategic Brocade technology-related initiatives, such as new technology definitions and proposed reporting practices
• Serve as lead on shaping the Brocade story on quarterly market share reporting with quantitative analyst firms
• Help in managing PR/AR agency resources effectively and efficiently

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• BS Communications or Journalism or equivalent experience.
• 8 to 10 years experience in public relations.
• A candidate familiar with Enterprise & Campus Ethernet/IP networking technologies and business/technology media and analysts is preferred.
• Federal PR experience a plus.
• Candidate must also have a solid grasp of business fundamentals that impact the IT industry.
• The position requires the ability to translate complex technical issues into relevant and easy to understand media-ready stories.
• Strong writing and presentation skills required. New media experience a plus.
• Comfortable with technical and business English usage (documents reading, e-mails, conference calls)
